Throughout history ; this place served as a natural harbor  and protected the ships and sailors who escaped the storms. Nowadays, place hosts tourists who enjoy resting   at the foot of green mountains with six beaches.  Rifat ilgaz who is a famous novel writer was born in Cide and settled there untill his death and written unforgettable novels.

Places to visit in Cide

Black Sea coast is not as rich as  the Aegean and Mediterranean  in terms of bays and beaches however there  are many favorable  bays suitable for resting and swimming along the cide . On the way from Cide to Cayyak you can see many picnic areas and resting places.

Kapisuyu Beach:

Driving from Amasra along the coast will take you to Kurucasile district and signs from the district will lead you to a natural wonderfull beach.

Gideros bay:

 Located 15 km far from Cide have been used for centuries as a natural shelter to be protected from vawes of Black sea. There are a few fish restaurant and home pensions in the area. Gideros castle, located in the edges of the land  which lyes on east and west '. A large part of the castle on the rock dating from the Roman Empire is a great structure to see. Gideros will give you a chance to enjoy the swimming in nature and history together.
