Situated and built over the hillside of boztepe a very high hill from where all city can be easily seen.

Monastery is surrounded by high defending walls and  built over two terraces . the roof of monastery was made by carving of a hard rock so the monastery is also known as Theoskepatsu (the place covered by god  ) It was started to be serve as monastery during the period of III. Alexios (1349-1390). Structure was repaired and developed since years untill 19.th century to take the last condition and structure which can be seen in present day. Girls monastery is only the one structure stands in the  Trabzon city.

Monastery consist of  The rock church found in the southern side of  monastery , chapel and several rock cells. Inscriptions and portreits of the wide and mother of III. Alexios can be seen in the rock church.

Girls monastery (kizlar manastiri) was in a deserted and ruined situation since last 4 years however by the efforts of Trabzon governors it was restored and opened to visitors.
