Istanbul Archeology museum

Archeology museum of Istanbul located between Gulhane park and Topkapi palace is one of the biggest  and  comprehensive museum in the world.

The archeology museum was started to firt exhibitions in Hagie Eirene Church in 1846 and  the museum was moved to building which is still used today in 1891 .

Museum has  a  great collection created by  sarcophaguses, inscriptions, statues , mosaics, coins, medals  etc. belonging to Greek , rome , Byzantine and many other ancient civilizations.

The museum is open to the public from 09:00 to 17:00, with ticket sales halting an hour before closing time; tickets are 10 TL. Closed Mondays

Museum of Ataturk

The house of Ataturk ( founder of republic of Turkey ) which he stayed during war of independence was converted to a museum in 1942 exhibiting his personel goods, uniforms, photos and his handwrite documents.

Tekfur Palace museum

Situated   between Edirne kapi and Egrikapi next to city walls . It’s only the one sample of Byzantine palace structure carrying the architectural style of Byzantine so the museum is so important for the art history world. It is known that the structure can be seen today was a part of  a much more bigger palace complex.

 It was renovated in 1950s by turkish government.
