Saint Jacob Church ( Mor Yakup kilisesi)

Church was built by the bishop of Nusaybin in 325 . Saint Jacob church is the oldest religious structure of the region.

Church is still on to visitors for worshipping. The tomb of Saint Jacob lies under the church. Church was surrounded  by archs and decorated column heads worth to see.  A university complex was built next to the church and roughly 800 to 1000 students had education in Syrian language from philosophy , logic, literature, mathematics , astronomy to law. University had raised many scientist and philosophers.
